Photography Excursions

Unmatched Photography Opportunities
Cape Romain is home to 293 species of birds, both migratory and resident.  The American alligator density is the highest north of Florida and you can witness them up close on your walk down Alligator Alley on Bulls Island.  The refuge is home to the world's largest winter population of American oystercatchers, a striking bird species that is in serious decline.  And there are steady populations of wood storks and American eagles, two species that have been on endangered species lists.

Because parts of Cape Romain are within a federally-protected, Class 1 Wilderness Area, there is no development and this area is managed as habitat for threatened plant and animal species. This offers unmatched opportunities to capture pristine images throughout the refuge.

Our guide service has been working in Cape Romain and on Bulls Island since 1994 and we have a strong mission of environmental stewardship and education.  Our captains are USCG-licensed and are also trained naturalists with a passion for the Lowcountry ecology.  We look forward to facilitating a photography outing for you or your group.
